Provider: Why do I need a Stripe account?

When a guest pays for one of your tours online, the money goes directly to you—not through a LinkYourTicket account. To do this, you’ll need your own Stripe account. Stripe is our payment processor and handles credit card payments, identity verification, and transfers to your bank account.

Why not just go through us?

  • Your money stays yours. The guest’s payment goes directly to your Stripe account; we only take our commission.
  • It’s required by law. Anyone who transfers other people’s money needs a financial license. Stripe has one; we don’t.
  • We never see your bank details. You enter your IBAN and ID information with Stripe, not with us.

📱 In the app: Here’s how to set it up

  1. Open Settings → Withdrawal Details.
  2. Tap “Connect Stripe Account.”
  3. You’ll be redirected to Stripe, where you’ll enter your business information, ID, and IBAN.
  4. After about 10 minutes, you’ll be back in the app.

Stripe usually reviews your information within 24 hours. Until then, the status will show as “Under Review.” You don’t need to submit anything else—check “Withdrawal Details” again after a day and tap “Update Status.”

Status Overview

  • Not connected — no Stripe account yet; online payments are not possible.
  • In Progress — Onboarding started but not completed.
  • Under Review — Everything has been submitted; Stripe is reviewing it.
  • Restricted — Stripe still needs documentation. Tap “Submit Additional Documentation.”
  • Active — Payouts are being processed.

When will the money arrive?

No sooner than 24 hours after the tour and no sooner than 48 hours after the booking. This timeframe accounts for last-minute cancellations. After that, we automatically trigger the payout once a day—you can’t set your own schedule.

There is one exception: With Stripe, card payments take about seven days for the funds to become available. So if a guest books shortly before the tour, the payout may arrive a few days later than described above. It won’t be lost—it will be processed as soon as the funds are available.

What the Stripe account is not

It has nothing to do with your subscription invoice. We generate the invoice for your LinkYourTicket plan based on your company information in the app (App → Settings → Billing Information), not on the details provided to Stripe.

Also: Tour guides and ticket outlets don’t need a Stripe account. They collect payment in cash or settle directly with the provider.
